The City of Fremont is needing help getting the Warming Center cleaned up and prepped for next year.  Clean up dates are Thursday, March 16th, 23rd from 10am to 3:00pm.  The next clean-up date will be posted when available. 

Jobs include:  
disinfect cots
Trade out old pillows
disinfect pillows
Organize towels
Organize blankets
Roll up sleeping bags 
separate pillow cases and bed sacks
Totes of clothing organized
roll up mats
Make new bags with sleeping bag and pillowcase
Take inventory on everything

Due to the cold and rainy weather, we are getting more homeless friends at the Warming Center. There are not enough cots and many of the old ones are broken. Thanks to everyone for contributing to support this need.  Enough cots have been donated within 3 days!

  • The Winter Emergency Warming Center is OPEN by the City of Fremont in collaboration with Compassion Network CitySERVE. It is held at Fremont Senior Center (Wing A, 40086 Paseo Padre Parkway, Fremont, CA 94538)
  • The Center is open when it is raining and/or below 40 degrees from mid-November through mid-March.
  • Volunteers and food donors are needed at the Emergency Warming Center when it opens.
  • Click here for warming-center-food-donor-info-sheet. Suggested food include: hearty soups and stews, spaghetti, Chinese food, chili, hot dogs with baked beans, pizza with salad and casseroles and barbequed chicken. Food should be pre-heated and ready to serve.

  • What we need to do is to prepare enough food for 50 people. Help set up tables, sign people in, serve food, clean up, and monitor shower time. The entire shift will be about 2-3 hours starting at 6pm.
  • Donation of sweat pants/shirts, jackets, underwear are needed. Please drop them off at the Warming Center when it is open.
