Fremont Unified Student Store (FUSS) is pleased to be able to offer the California Math League (CAML) test to FUSD Students in grades 6, 7 and 8. FUSS is a non-profit organization affiliated with FUSD. You can find our website athttps://www.fuss4schools.org
.The CAML tests offer challenging math problems for students in grades 6, 7 and 8. These tests are optional for students, and are offered for fun. There are three different tests available, one for each grade level 6, 7 and 8. You can choose which test you want your student to take. However, your student must be in grades 6, 7 or 8. We plan to offer the CAML test for grades 4 and 5 at a future date.
These tests are open to all students. The tests will be offered during the week of February 25 at a location in Fremont to be determined. If your student is interested in taking this test, please take this survey so we can see if there is enough interest.
We probably need 30 students to hold the test. If enough students are interested, registration will begin on Friday, February 15 and will close on Tuesday night, February 19, at midnight. The test will cost $10. Payment will not be refunded if you do not show up for the test.
Each contest’s questions cover material appropriate to each grade level. Questions may cover: basic topics, plus exponents, fractions, reciprocals, decimals, rates, ratios, percents, angle measurement, perimeter, area, circumference, basic roots, patterns, sequences, integers, triangles and right triangles, and other topics, depending on the grade level.
Each contest consists of 35 multiple-choice questions that you can do in 30 minutes. On each 3-page contest, the questions on the 1st page are generally straightforward, those on the 2nd page are moderate in difficulty, and those on the 3rd page are more difficult.
Your student cannot take two tests on the same day. If your student takes a test at school, and again with FUSS, the results will not be valid.
